Doodle Session with Mom

I’ve grown up taking drawing classes from my mom.  Before her recent retirement, my mom was an elementary school art teacher, for like 35 years or something.  As you may know this is not the most lucrative profession, and she always had fun ways of making extra money.  One of which was having art camp and drawing classes at the house.  I grew up taking these when I was young and my first few jobs were assisting her with the class during summers.

I haven’t doodled or let alone really draw anything in what feels like years with life and how easy it is to swept away by the mundane hectic flow of it all.   So I approached my mom with a proposition that I knew she wouldn’t be able to turn done.  I come over once a week and we drink wine and draw and or paint, in exchange for computer classes for her. And as we go we would both recruit to see if others would like to join in on the fun.   Sweet little deal, right?

The first session was great!  Not the most productive, but great to sit down with all the necessary materials and go.  This first time there was no instruction, we just had free time.

Mom is obviously the pro

This ones for my boys

Valentines Day is right around the corner and I just wanted to give it up for my boys.  We usually don’t do anything crazy for this epic holiday, just hangout at a friends house eat heart shaped pizza, drink regular shaped beer and play games.  This year isn’t going to be any different, but I am in the process of making some fun little cards and crafts.  Those photos to come.

I took this photo last February on a camping trip to Inks Lake with my Lomo, and had the film cross processed.
